1st Battalion – NCOA

Overview

The 1st Battalion, 640th Regiment (Regional Training Institute) Noncommissioned Officer Academy teaches the Basic Leader Course and the Battle Staff Course. BLC focuses on the NCO Core leadership competencies readiness, leadership, training management, written communications, operations, and program management. The Battle Staff NCO Course concentrates on the duties, responsibilities, and coordination of staff sections, regardless of the NCOs functional area of assignment. The Master Leader Course is a resident course on communications, leadership, management, and unified land operations that prepares Soldiers to transition from the tactical to the operational level.
