Signal courses include transition and noncommissioned officer leader courses in Information Technology.

Artillery courses include transition courses: Cannon Crewmember, Fire Support Specialist, and Fire Control Specialist

4th Battalion, Military Intelligence
Military Intelligence courses include transition courses: All-source Intelligence Analysis, Human Intelligence and Counterintelligence.

The 640th Regiment, Regional Training Institute (RTI), is a premier military training facility that provides high-quality, mission-essential education and training. Located at Camp W.G. Williams, Utah, the 640th RTI specializes in developing and enhancing Soldiers' skills across various military branches. History of the 640th RTI.
1941 - On December 15, the 640th Tank Destroyer Battalion is authorized
1942 - On July 25th, the 640th was ordered overseas and participated in World War II operations in the Pacific Islands (Solomon Islands, Philippines, etc.)
1956 - The 640th Regiment, Regional Training Institute was reorganized as the Utah Military Academy
1989 - Accredited and redesignated as the Region V NCO Academy
1992 - Expanded courses to include 13CMF Field Artillery
1998 - Redesignated as the 140th and divided into two battalions
2000 - Redesignated as the 640th Regiment
2004 - First recognition as an Institute of Excellence in the Army School System
2005 - Expanded mission to include 35CMF MOS-transition courses
2006 - Reorganized with four battalions (NCOA, General Support, Field Artillery, Military Intelligence)
2009 - Expanded to 25CMF Signal Corp (2nd Battalion)
Resources at Camp Williams
Camp Williams offers a variety of resources and support to members attending 640th RTI courses. Check out the MWR website to find information about the coffee shop, barber shop, bar, swimming pool, discount tickets, PX, and lodging.
Dining Facility
Rations are available at The Dining Facility (DFAC), Bldg. 7150
Breakfast - $4.35
6:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m.
Lunch - $7.00
12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.
- Dinner - $6.05
4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
The Dining Facility (DFAC) only accepts cash and does not accept credit cards. An ATM is conveniently located before the counter. Due to standard operating procedures, please be aware that we cannot accept bills higher than $10.
- M-Day/TPU Soldiers: Will be issued a meal card on the first day of class and will not be required to pay for meals
- AGR/ADOS and Active Duty Soldiers: Must pay for their meals in the DFAC
If you have a personal lifestyle dietary choice, such as vegetarian, vegan, kosher, or any others, please understand we have a select menu to abide by and will not be able to provide or cater to all needs. If the dietary need is medical, allergy, or religious, you must provide documentation from either a certified physician or a chaplain for an accommodation.
Ruck March Challenge
Don't forget to bring your backpack to the course! The 640th RTI invites you to participate in a 26.2-mile Ruck March Challenge. While attending our courses, complete a total of 26.2 miles with at least 35 lbs. and earn the 640th Regiment participant medal of completion. Do it all at once or break it up into shorter routes completed over a period of time.
How to participate
- Marchers must have a minimum of 35 lbs, including their backpacks, unless a profile states otherwise.
- Any style of backpack can be used as long as the total weight reaches at least 35 lbs. The frame of the backpack will count towards the 35 lbs limit.
- Weighted vests are allowed or counted as weight.
- Refunds will NOT be authorized once registered nor will they be issued due to inclement weather or cancellation of the march.
- Good sportsmanship is expected at all times!
