Visual Information

Visual Information products assist commanders at all levels, from tactical and operational commanders to the Secretary of War, by providing a visual record of significant Army events and activities. Visual images are used in tactical command and control decision-making, strategic planning, and management through presentations and reports.

VIOS Login Instructions

Customers can obtain access to VIOS online using CAC credentials at https://www.aesmp.army.mil

  • Once you access the main page, you will select “Get Something”
  • On the left, you will see a list of categories, and you will select “Visual Information Ordering System (VIOS) Services”, the very last item
  • Then you will select what you are requesting:
    • VIOS Audiovisual Equipment loan if you are requesting equipment
    • VIOS Graphic Design and Production if you are requesting a graphic
    • VIOS Photography if you are requesting a command photo or event coverage of an event
    • VIOS Videography and Audio if you are requesting a podcast or video production
  • You will need to fill out all information that has an * next to it at a minimum; each request will require more specific information:
  • Requester Name: will auto-populate
  • Please provide your Service Component Type: Army National Guard (this will auto-populate)
  • Physical Location: address (ex, 17800 South Redwood Rd.)
  • Building: the building you are working/drilling at (ex, Camp Williams, or JFHQ)
  • Room/Cubicle: your room number (ex, 147)
  • Normal Business Hours: whatever your daily schedule is (ex, Tues-Fri 0900 - 1730)
  • Duty Station/Duty Station UIC: US Army National Guard, full-time support, Utah - W01ZAA Draper, UT USA
    • To search for this location, you can either type *Utah or *W01ZAA , and it will populate
  • Below that, you will select “Confirm selection above is the nearest to your current physical location for support.”
  • Requester Email Address: this will auto-populate
  • Requester Phone Number: this will auto-populate
  • Requester Best Contact Number: please put whatever number that you can be best reached at, even if it is the same as the requester’s phone number
  • If you are making a request for someone else, you will select that and fill in their information
  • Select Your Region: CONUS
  • Select Your Installation: Utah ARNG/Utah ANG
  • What is the purpose of this request? Type a detailed description of why you are submitting a request (ex, I was recently promoted and need an updated command photo, or we have multiple trainings during drill and need a projector and projector screen)
  • Would you like a Cost Estimate? You will leave this blank
  • Everything after the Cost Estimate will be different depending on what you are requesting. Please fill out the rest of your request to the best of your ability. If you have any questions, please contact the VI office
  • Below are some items to keep in mind when submitting a request
    • Delivery method will always be pick up; we DO NOT ship items. You can schedule a time to pick up your items or hand receipt equipment with the individual assigned to your request.
    • If you are requesting an equipment loan, please select whether it is for audio or video and put a detailed description in the box below. If you are requesting both, select one and list all items you need in the description (ex, I need 1 projector, 1 projector screen, 1 audio system, and 2 wireless microphones)
    • For photography requst, if you are requesting a command photo, the section for what is the purpose of this request, you will select "Update Official Photo," type of photography will be "Head and Shoulders/Other Portrait" and then add any additional information in the "Additional Details" box (ex, I need to have an updated command photo in my ASU/AGSU and OCP uniform)
    • If you are requesting printing, you must upload the file to the bottom of your request as an attachment; the file size must be smaller than 1024 MB, and the file type must be PDF (for anything larger than 1024 MB, please send files to [email protected])
    • Some requests may require setting up a meeting; the individual assigned to your request will reach out to you through the AESMP system to set up an appointment to go over any additional information
  • Once you submit your request, the VI office will receive it and task it to a worker. If there are any questions or concerns about your request, the worker will reach out to you through the AESMP system, and you will be notified.

Please bear with us as this is a new process for requesting VIOS orders, and updates are constantly being pushed to help make the flow of this system easy and efficient. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the VI office.

Types of Support

Duties performed will be in line with the latest publication of the Command, Control, Communications, Computers, and Information Management (C4IM) Services List, service 702.0 – Multimedia/Visual Information Processes, along with applicable regulations governing VI activities.

  1. Graphic art support - to include designing, creating, and preparing visual products. Graphic art design and creation include charts, graphs, posters, visual materials for brochures, printed publications, displays, and presentations.
  2. Head and shoulder photos (unit flag/colors must be provided by the service member)
  3. Audio/Video products and services. To include components such as script, talent, pre-production, production, and post-production. Audio products include recording, producing, reproducing, and distributing sound to support an activity such as the recording of briefings, news clips, ambient sound, sound effects, reports, and other studio products
  4. VI equipment loans. Cameras and camcorders (photos and video). Gear kit assembly done by the VI team. Equipment also includes portable public address systems (self-help or VI-operated)
  5. Presentation support and visual aids. To include the production of simple slide presentations, briefing charts, and flyers
  6. Archiving. To include both internal, storage drive, and external, Defense Imagery Management Operations Center (DIMOC)/Defense Visual Information Distribution Service (DVIDS)
  7. Print services (lamination and foam boarding also). To include head and shoulder photos for chain of command displays, and limited requests for printed visual aids (vinyl stickers are available in limited quantity and timing)
