DRAPER, Utah – The Utah Army National Guard will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house for its new, state-of-the-art Medical Simulation Training Center (MSTC) on January 10, 2026, at Camp Williams. The event will formally unveil a premier facility designed to provide cutting-edge medical training and enhance the readiness of military medical personnel across the region.

The MSTC provides realistic, scenario-based training using advanced patient simulators for trauma and medical interventions. It is designed to support critical skills sustainment for all military branches and components as well as civilian agencies, medical personnel, and first responders preparing them to manage traumatic injuries in high-stress environments. The center’s purpose is to improve patient outcomes, enhance combat medical readiness, and reduce preventable deaths on the battlefield.

Regarded by national evaluators as “hands down, the best facility we’ve seen,” the Utah MSTC features a unique design for unparalleled training effectiveness. Its robust construction allows for intense, realistic trauma scenarios and rapid cleanup. The facility’s flexible, linear layout and larger training spaces can be reconfigured to simulate everything from a point-of-injury incident to a full four-bed trauma bay, while its location allows for seamless integration of helicopter and ground ambulance drills.

“This facility was designed from the ground up to provide the most realistic medical training possible,” said Maj. Aaron Roberts. “Our unique features, ensure that when our medics face a real-world crisis, they are prepared, confident, and ready to save lives. This isn’t just a building; it’s a commitment to giving our Soldiers the best, so they can perform at their best.”
