DRAPER, Utah – The Utah National Guard is preparing for Exercise Wolverine, a major joint, multi-component training event scheduled for April 2026. Conducted across Dugway Proving Grounds, AGCW, Tooele Armory, and Hill Air Force Base, Wolverine is designed to sharpen our integrated response to modern threats and reinforce true multi-domain interoperability.
Led by the UTNG, the exercise brings together Army and Air Force units to rehearse real-world conflict scenarios targeting the homeland. Training will center on cyber warfare, joint fires, electronic warfare, counter-UAS, and Defense Support of Civil Authorities, ensuring forces are ready for contested Homeland Defense environments.
Key objectives include validating Joint C2, refining joint tactics, techniques and procedures, and enhancing the joint force’s ability to respond to everything from domestic disruptions to malign actor threats. Participating units include the 151st Wing, 65th FAB, 204th MEB, 419th FW, 97th AVTC, 97th TC, and 1st Battalion 19th Special Forces Group, among others across the state.
Although planning has just begun, Ex. Wolverine represents an important step in preparing Utah’s joint force for emerging threats and strengthening the partnerships that define mission success.
