
DRAPER, Utah – The Utah Army National Guard announces the retirement of Brigadier General Kurt Davis during a ceremony scheduled on April 13, 2025, at the Rolland R. Wright Air Base in Salt Lake City.
After serving in many positions in the Utah Air National Guard and the Utah National Guard’s Joint Staff for more than 36 years Davis has decided to retire from military service. His long career culminated with his service as the Director of the Joint Staff. As DJS Brig Gen Davis oversaw the preparation and planning of the UTNGs domestic state missions including disaster planning, and emergency response for multiple missions across the state.
General Davis said “Serving as the Director of the Joint Staff for the Utah National Guard has been an absolute honor. Working alongside the incredible Soldiers and Airmen of the Army and Air National Guard, as well as our dedicated federal, state, and community partners, has been both inspiring and humbling. Their professionalism, resilience, and commitment to service exemplify the very best of our nation. I am grateful for the opportunity to have been part of such an extraordinary team, united in our mission to protect and serve the people of Utah and the United States.”
