Bluffdale, Utah – June 5, 2024 – Join us in honor and remembrance at the dedication and unveiling ceremony of the Brigadier General William G. Williams bronze statue, as we celebrate a legacy of courage and exemplary leadership. We invite the community to gather and pay tribute to a true hero whose life and service have left an indelible mark on our nation. Brig. Gen. Williams’ commitment to duty and leadership has inspired generations, and this statue stands as a permanent reminder of his valor and dedication. Brig. Gen. William Grey Williams is the namesake of Camp W.G. Williams, a National Guard training site in Utah. The camp was officially established in 1928 and named after Williams in recognition of his service in the Spanish-American War and his work in establishing the site as a permanent training location. Mr. William G. Williams, the grandson of Brig. Gen. Williams was the driving influence for this statue and will speak at the event. About Mr. William G. Williams Mr. William G. Williams, a proud Utah native and esteemed businessman, personifies the loyalty and success inspired by his grandfather, Brig. Gen. Williams. His profound respect for his grandfather’s legacy profoundly influences his personal and professional life, embodying a commitment to integrity and dedication. The statue stands as a testament to William’s unwavering commitment to preserving and honoring the remarkable military and personal virtues of his grandfather for future generations. The Utah National Guard commends the exceptional artistic talents of renowned artist Scot P. Olsen, who’s work as a fine Artist and Sculptor is truly remarkable. Scot was awarded Utah’s Best of State award for Sculpture in part because of his bronze 16-foot sculpted Jester displayed at the Hale Center Theater. The Utah National Guard deeply appreciates Scot’s unwavering dedication, extraordinary talent and invaluable contributions to the community.
